Reasons to visit Alishan

You can trek through the tall and distant forests of 1,500-year-old giant trees and the sea of clouds of Alishan, which is over 2,200 meters above sea level and has been called one of the "Eight Scenic Views of Taiwan" since ancient times. The sea of clouds of Alishan usually appears at dawn or dusk on a clear day when the clouds are full. The best season to see the sea of clouds is autumn. Walk along the trails of Alishan and feel the charm of the alpine forest while taking in the phytoncides in the great nature.

Experience the Alishan Forest Train

Alishan Mountain Railway, one of the few remaining mountain railways in the world, was originally built to transport timber. Now it is a tourist train, carrying passengers through the forest. Meet the Alishan Forest Railway, one of the five scenic spots of Alishan, “sunrise, sunset, sea of clouds, mountain railway, and forest,” and one of the three major mountain railways in the world.

1. 07:30 - 08:10
Conduct a meeting at a designated meeting point
In front of McDonald's at Bonggap Night Market (07:30 AM) / Gongyuan Eye Clinic (07:50 AM) / Taichung High Speed Rail Station (08:10 AM)

2. 08:00 AM - Ceiling Earth Bridge
The Cheonjangji Bridge crosses the upper reaches of the Paljanggye Valley and looks very beautiful against the backdrop of the green mountains and waters.

3. 12:10 PM - Lunch
You can enjoy Chinese food against the backdrop of Alishan's fresh air and beautiful scenery.

4. 1:20 PM - Forest bathing at Alishan Forest Recreation Area
Trekking through a forest of towering, 1,500-year-old trees will create memories you'll never forget.

5. 15:10 - Alishan Forest Train
You can ride the Alishan Forest Railway, one of the world's three largest mountain railways.

6. 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
