Ashizuri Aquarium

Ashizuri Aquarium, which was newly renovated and opened in July 2020, is a special aquarium that tells the story of Cape Ashizuri! Designated as Japan's first maritime museum in 1970, this museum located in Tosashimizu, western Kochi Prefecture, is now a national park! Upon entering the aquarium, you will begin your exploration of the mountainous primeval forest and continue on to the coral reefs along the Tatsukushi coast, home to many marine life! Once you've discovered everything from the countless marine creatures drawn to the warm Kuroshio Current flowing beyond the coral reef to the deep sea, your adventure is ready! Have fun at a museum full of nature and ocean adventures, seeing 15,000 marine creatures and over 350 types of exhibits!
