My bow is with my own hands!
Try making it yourself
Koraku Kiln is a pottery factory where artists who make pottery gather. Here, you can learn about bamboo and kiln unglazing, the history of bows, and even try archery using ceramics. To experience archery, you have to make your own bow out of bamboo. Isn’t it like a samurai to make your own bow?
One shot, one kill!
Become a sharpshooter
At the archery experience at the pottery factory, Koraku Kiln, you can learn about the first firing of bamboo and kilns, the history of bows, how to make bows and arrows, and even how to shoot an arrow. Isn't it exciting to shoot an arrow with a bow you made yourself? If you hit the target with a bow you made yourself, you'll feel twice as proud.
You can learn everything from how to stand when shooting an archery to how to hold an arrow and how to shoot an arrow. Then, how about becoming a sharpshooter and breaking a ceramic target? The sound of the target breaking relieves stress!
Even kids can do it
Anyone above elementary school age can participate in this experience. Since it is an experience using a sword, you must do it with a guardian. It is good to cheer and watch the process of your child completing the bow on his or her own, or to participate in making it together and compete while making the same thing.
Children under elementary school age can participate in the archery experience, omitting the making process for safety reasons.
Homemade bows and targets, I like this
At the Adventure Archery Academy, you can make bows using swords and saws. You can also learn how to use tools you have never used before during the making process. The material for the bow is bamboo that is destroying forests, and the target is the discarded first firing from the Arita ware production. You can enjoy a fun experience while contributing to environmental issues.
Begin by making a bow and become familiar with archery through this special experience unique to Koraku Gama!
Arita porcelain, Aritayaki
You may be wondering what Arita-yaki, the material of the target, is. It is a type of porcelain manufactured in the town of Arita and the surrounding areas of Saga Prefecture. As Japan's first porcelain production area, it has continued to produce products centered on tableware and crafts for 400 years. It is characterized by transparent white porcelain, cobalt earthenware dyeing, and gorgeous red-painted porcelain.
