Highlights

Tour a pottery factory,
Bring your favorite pottery

This is a tour where you can tour a pottery factory. While looking at the adventure map, the staff at Koraku Kiln will kindly guide you through the Arita porcelain manufacturing site. You can learn in detail how sturdy and beautiful pottery is made.

Also, you can go treasure hunting after the tour. Can you believe that you can take all the ceramics with you just by putting them in a basket? Explore the ceramics you like in our spacious ceramics warehouse. All you have to do is choose the pottery you like and put it in the basket in 90 minutes. Take a look at the Koraku kiln pottery made by various pottery artists.

Program

pottery factory,
What do you do?

Saga Prefecture, known as the home of ceramics, has been known to have active exchanges with various countries since ancient times. A Korean potter, Lee Sam-pyeong, went to Japan and made Japan's first porcelain, and from this, Saga Prefecture's pottery technology developed.

Koraku Kiln accepts artists from various fields, both domestically and internationally, and provides a place where they can focus on their production. It is said that they are creating works that have never been seen before, inspired by Arita's materials, techniques, firing methods, and Arita's nature and people. Well then, let’s take a look at what kind of pottery artists go through and create!

What ceramics can I bring?

Arita porcelain, a traditional craft from Arita Town, is popular not only in Japan but also overseas. It is characterized by its durability, white porcelain to make it transparent, dyed with cobalt tones, and gorgeous red painted porcelain. Arita porcelain is known to be expensive, but Koraku Kiln offers a pottery selection experience with the hope that more customers will use Arita porcelain.

Receive a basket and work gloves, and find your own treasures in the spacious warehouse to fill the basket!

How do I select ceramics?

Now that you know about pottery, it’s time to get started in earnest. First, present the QR code at the reception desk and receive work gloves and a basket. Go to the Treasure Hunter Warehouse and place as many ceramics as you want! Once the treasure hunting is over, you can check the ceramics and pack them yourself. It can last up to 90 minutes, but you can pack it without completing the full 90 minutes. Let’s find your own treasure!

The pottery you can bring along in this course is simple and good for everyday use. Also, you can see a lot of unique ceramics that have not yet been released to the world.
