A modern glass-walled building, Sakai Rishonomori is a facility where you can exhibit and experience Senrikyu, famous for establishing the Japanese tea ceremony, and Akiko Yosano, a Japanese writer and musician. This is a place where you can learn more about the culture that developed in Sakai. You can enjoy it in a variety of ways, from a free exhibition space to a tea ceremony experience where you can taste matcha and sweets.

Time travel to Sakai!
When you wear the latest VR goggles, the hologram table inside the goggles will reproduce the streetscape of the medieval city of Sakai as a three-dimensional image. You can enjoy experiential content that allows you to watch videos from any angle with VR goggles. Not only can you feel the liveliness of the streets of Sakai with VR goggles, but the theater exhibition room is equipped with a digital folding screen surrounded by LED signage, allowing you to see the beauty of the changing seasons, such as cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. Travel back in time to Sakai with the latest VR goggles!
An exhibition hall filled with Sakai’s history
Sakai Risho no Mori consists of three major exhibition halls. Senrikyu Tea Museum, where you can learn about Sen Rikyu, the founder of Senke Tea Ceremony and known as the master of wabicha, the Akiko Yosano Memorial Museum , a poet who criticized social and educational issues, and visitors to Sakai City can tour various parts of the city. There is even a tourist information exhibition room that provides a variety of information! You can view the exhibition with foreign language guidance on a rental tablet.

After the experience and viewing of the exhibition, we recommend taking a look at Sakai Rishonomori's goods shop, 'Sakai Enan'. There are Sakai souvenirs such as delicious Japanese snacks, tea, incense, and miscellaneous goods.
