Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum of Art
The Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum of Art has been working to preserve Yamaguchi Prefecture's art and culture by holding special exhibitions on various topics every year for about 20 years, starting with a special Picasso exhibition in 2004.
The museum was also reborn as a neat and modern building through renovation in 2011, and inside there is a rest area where you can take a break while viewing the exhibits, as well as a museum shop! There are also cafes and walking paths around the museum, so it can be used as a complex cultural facility in addition to viewing the exhibits, so please visit and have a relaxing time.
Special Exhibition Preview
Iwago Mitsuaki is a representative Japanese animal photographer who has captured various wild animals and cats on camera all over the world. This exhibition will introduce works taken in the world's largest tropical wetland, the Pantanal, located in central South America, and vividly captures wild animals living tenaciously in untouched nature, including jaguars, Paraguayan caimans, and capybaras. In particular, about 100 works will be exhibited in large sizes exceeding 2 meters, allowing visitors to experience the dynamic scenes unfolding before their eyes.
At the concurrently held Mitsuaki Iwago photo exhibition THE CATS , you can also enjoy the free and beautiful images of various felines such as cats, lions, and cheetahs taken from all over the world.
