A special time to encounter traditional Japanese yokai: Yokai Festival 2025
Toei Uzumasa Eigamura, a set that recreates various eras of Japan, including Edo-period streets, samurai homes, ninja villages, and Meiji-period Western-style buildings, transforms into a stage for yokai at night. Unlike the daytime, you'll encounter classic Japanese yokai in a chilling atmosphere.
Uzumasa's Night Walk of the Hundred Demons
A parade reimagining the legendary Hyakki Yagyo (百鬼夜行), where countless yokai marched through the streets of Kyoto at night during the Heian period, will be held at Toei Uzumasa Eigamura. During the festival, the streets of Eigamura are transformed into a stage for yokai, with various yokai characters weaving through film sets and meeting audiences. After the yokai parade, a performance is held where you can dance with the yokai. This event is undeniably the highlight of the festival, and takes place on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays during the festival period.
