1F / Meet the tanks that recreate the deep sea of Okinawa

First, the 1st floor of the Churaumi Aquarium is designed as a space where you can see various underwater scenes with the concept of 'recreating the deep sea of Okinawa'. The deep sea, which holds countless mysteries, commonly refers to the sea that exceeds a depth of 200m, and it perfectly recreates that mysterious world. You can see about 100 species of creatures that have not been introduced until now beyond the transparent acrylic.

2F / Introducing the Kuroshio Sea

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium's main attraction, 'Kuroshio Sea', is a place where you can learn about the ecology of sharks in detail. At the Churaumi Theater, you can watch high-definition videos about the ecology of various creatures living in Okinawa's Churaumi and the relationship between Okinawans and the sea, and you can understand the shark ecosystem in the shark room.

The highlight is the Aqua Room that you meet through the huge acrylic panel on the front! You can admire whale sharks and manta rays swimming in a large tank with a capacity of 7,500m3.

TIP: You can see whale sharks being fed during the Kuroshio Sea Adventure, which is only available from 15:00-17:00!

3F / Introducing a coral reef adventure

On the 3rd floor of the Churaumi Aquarium, you can find coral reefs and tropical fish. Here, you can see beautiful tropical fish and coral reefs in the tank. In addition, in the 'Creatures of Inoh' corner, there is also an experience corner where you can see, touch, and experience creatures living in the shallow waters of Okinawa.

4F / Invitation to the Open Sea

On the 4th floor rooftop of the Churaumi Aquarium, there is a view and space where you can see the emerald green sea of Okinawa and Iejima Island. This is the best photo spot in the Churaumi Aquarium, so many people take pictures here.

Okichan Theater is a must-see

Dolphin shows are held at the Churaumi Aquarium Okichan Theater! Through the show, you can learn about the ecology of dolphins and their abilities. The Okichan Theater is free for anyone with a Churaumi Aquarium ticket. 

TIP: The front row seats can get wet! If you don't like it, please sit in the back seats!

Be sure to take a walk along the sea after visiting Churaumi

Behind the Churaumi Aquarium, there is a promenade where you can enjoy a walk while feeling the nature of Okinawa. It is called the Sea Promenade, and you can see a really wonderful view of the cobalt blue Okinawan sea and the islands rising above the horizon.

There are also stairs leading down to the sea, so be sure to visit to see the sea together.
