Shanghai is a city that never stops moving — but when the sun goes down, it transforms.
Skyscrapers sparkle in the skyline, historic facades along The Bund glow with golden light, and the Huangpu River reflects it all like a mirror.
If you're in Shanghai, don’t miss these three night spots that locals and travelers alike adore.
1. Huangpu River Night Cruise
Where city lights glide by on water
The best way to experience Shanghai’s skyline is from the river itself.
Onboard a night cruise, you’ll float past the futuristic towers of Lujiazui, the colonial charm of The Bund, and watch it all shimmer in the water.
Cruises typically last between 30 minutes to an hour.
For the most magical views, we recommend sailing between 7:00–9:00 PM when the city is fully lit.
Boarding Point: Shiliupu Wharf
Recommended Time: Around sunset to 9 PM

2. Oriental Pearl Tower Observation Deck
The closest you’ll get to Shanghai’s night sky
As one of Shanghai’s most iconic buildings, the Oriental Pearl Tower offers sweeping views of the entire city — and it’s especially breathtaking at night.
From the 468-meter-high deck, you’ll see the city sparkle in every direction.
Don’t miss the transparent glass skywalk, the futuristic exhibitions, or the multimedia displays that bring Shanghai’s story to life.
Address: 1 Century Ave, Pudong, Shanghai
Opening Hours: 10:00 AM–9:00 PM (Last entry at 8:30 PM)
- Book via WAUG
3. Riverside Promenade (Binjiang Avenue)
The locals’ favorite night walk
Tucked beside the Huangpu River in Lujiazui is one of Shanghai’s most underrated nighttime gems — the Binjiang Riverside Promenade.
It’s a quiet stretch lined with benches, cafés, and city-view platforms.
Young locals love it for nighttime strolls, post-dinner chats, or just sitting with a coffee and soaking in the skyline.
Location: 300 Binjiang Ave, Pudong, Shanghai
Best Hours: 7:00–10:00 PM
