The Vessel, towering over the redeveloped Hudson Yards area on the west side of Manhattan, is more than just a structure; it is an architectural work of art that proudly symbolizes the innovation and future of New York. Conceived by British designer Thomas Heatherwick, this helical structure is a unique landmark that boasts a special way to enjoy new vistas of the city.

The Vessel is composed of a total of 154 interconnected flights of stairs and approximately 80 landings, boasting a unique structure resembling a honeycomb or a massive spiral staircase. Designed as a space for vertical exploration, visitors can walk up the stairs and view the Hudson Yards, the Hudson River, and the Manhattan skyline from various angles. The stainless steel exterior of the Vessel reflects the sunlight and its surroundings, creating a fantastic visual effect that makes it seem to change color constantly, thereby proudly serving as a massive photo spot in itself. Although climbing the stairs is currently restricted for safety reasons, the grandeur of the Vessel viewed from the plaza below and its connection to the surrounding cultural complex, including the Edge observation deck and the shopping mall, ensure it remains a core attraction in Hudson Yards.
