Pekka Halonen is famous for capturing the intense nature and quiet daily life of the Finnish Karelia region on canvas. This exhibition spans about 100 works, from Halonen's early pieces to his later masterpieces, deeply illuminating how he explored the relationship between nature, light, and humanity.
Notably, Halonen studied in Paris, where he was influenced by Impressionism and Symbolism. However, he reinterpreted these movements in his own unique style, creating a distinctly Nordic, lyrical, and emotional atmosphere. The delicate expression of light and profound use of color felt within the snow-covered forests, tranquil lakes, and simple Finnish farm scenes leave a powerful impression on visitors.
Enjoy the works of Pekka Halonen, which capture the cold and pure natural beauty of Finland, within the beautiful Art Nouveau architecture of the Petit Palais, adding depth to your romantic trip to Paris.
