Dubrovnik Airport is located in Čilipi, about 20 km from the Old Town. Having your transport sorted before you land makes your first day much easier.

There are three main ways to get from the airport to the Old Town: the airport shuttle bus that runs with flight arrivals, a taxi from outside the terminal, and a pre-booked private pickup.

If you travel light and are staying near the Old Town, the shuttle bus is a great choice. For late arrivals or family trips, consider a car that takes you right to your accommodation.

Airport Shuttle Bus Timed to Flight Arrivals

The Dubrovnik Airport shuttle bus doesn't run on a fixed timetable. It departs about 30 minutes after each flight lands and runs from the first flight of the day to the last.

The bus waits just outside the arrivals hall, near the main airport entrance. Look for the white post marked 'Shuttle bus'. One suitcase per passenger is loaded onto the bus by the staff.

Your ticket is valid for any departure on that day, so if your flight is delayed, simply hop on the next bus. Tickets are not sold on board, so get your one-way or return ticket in advance.

Step Off at Ploče Gate, Right at the Old Town

The shuttle's first stop is Ploče Gate, a main entrance to the Old Town. The ride from the airport takes about 30 minutes and may take a little longer in busy summer traffic.

The bus then continues to its final stop, the main bus station in Gruž. It is about 500 m from the ferry port, which is handy if you are heading on to Korčula, Mljet or the Elaphiti Islands.

Going from the city to the airport, the bus departs from Gruž and stops at Grawe and the cable car stop. Departure times change from day to day, so check the operator's timetable in advance.

Taxi or Private Pickup for Heavy Luggage

Taxis are available in front of Terminal B, the arrivals building. The fare list is posted on the notice board at the terminal entrance, so check it before you get in.

With a private pickup, your driver waits at the airport meeting point according to your flight time and takes you straight to your accommodation. On your way home, you can also book a drop-off from your hotel to the airport.

Be sure to check the meeting point and time on your voucher. If you are tired after a long flight, start your Dubrovnik trip with a comfortable transfer.
