Hello! Today, we're bringing you everything you need to know about the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter. From directions and ticket purchases to insider tips for maximizing your experience, we've got you covered.
Getting to the Studio Tour
There are two main ways to reach the Studio Tour: by subway or by Seibu Railway. As the travel time is similar for both, over 90% of visitors opt for the subway.
Take the pink Oedo Line to "Toshimaen" station. It’s not as far as you might think, and the journey from central Tokyo takes about 20-30 minutes, making it a perfect day trip.
Purchasing Tickets
Purchasing your Studio Tour tickets through WAUG is the most economical option. WAUG offers packages that combine Studio Tour admission with a Tokyo Metro Pass. Currently, you can also take advantage of an exclusive 5% discount coupon, making the price approximately $40 USD per person.

Recommended Route
To truly experience the Studio Tour, planning your route is key. Since the entrance and exit are the same, you’ll need to decide whether to go left or right upon entering. Personally, we recommend following the footprint path shown in the image above.
Start at the entrance, then proceed to the lobby and then to Hogwarts. This way, you can grab a bite to eat midway through your visit and stop by the gift shop at the end. Be sure to save the image and follow the footprint path!
The Great Hall Has a Time Limit
The Great Hall, a recreation of the iconic dining hall where Hogwarts students gather for meals, has a viewing time limit. You’ll need to complete your visit within 10-15 minutes, as the lights will automatically turn off. So, make sure to move at a good pace to avoid being caught by the time limit.
Anniversary Events:
If your visit coincides with a birthday or anniversary, you might have the special opportunity to open the doors of the Great Hall.
Area-Specific Experiences
Each area offers a variety of interactive experiences:
Moving Staircase:
Take photos and have them appear in the staircase frames.
Hogwarts Dorm Life:
Participate in a Quidditch cheering experience. Follow the staff's instructions to participate and receive a video of your experience.
Forbidden Forest:
Experience casting a Patronus.
Potions Classroom:
Learn about Defense Against the Dark Arts in an interactive experience that makes you feel like a real wizard.
Wanted Poster Photo Op:
Create a “Wanted” poster with your own face, just like in the movies.
Broomstick Experience:
Pose with a broomstick following staff instructions to create a photo and video of yourself flying. This experience costs around $35 USD and is cheaper for groups.
Dining Options
Midway through your tour, you can enjoy Butterbeer, and later, you can have a meal at the Food Hall. You’ll find a variety of Harry Potter-themed food, characterized more by its fun presentation than its taste. Fish and chips and burgers are particularly popular.
