Located in Athens, Greece, the Temple of Olympian Zeus was one of the largest and most magnificent temples in ancient Greece, dedicated to Zeus, the greatest god in Greek mythology. Construction began in the 6th century BC but took 638 years to complete, finishing in the 2nd century during the reign of Roman Emperor Hadrian. Although only 15 giant columns remain today, their scale and grandeur continue to inspire awe.
