Check in at the trailer
and get your surf gear

Check in at the Go Ride A Wave trailer 15 minutes before the lesson. Your instructor will fit you with a wetsuit and a surfboard matched to your height and skill level, then you will head down to the beach with your group.

Learn the basics on the sand and catch your first waves

After a safety briefing and basic skills training on the sand, head into the water. Catch small waves in waist-deep water to get comfortable, then regroup on the beach for step-by-step instruction on standing up and riding waves.

Practice standing up with coaching from your instructor

The rest of the lesson is hands-on practice. Your instructor surfs alongside you with individual coaching as you practice standing and riding waves.

Options include a 2-hour small-group experience for first-timers, a course of three 2-hour lessons with an online learning module, and a 1.5-hour one-on-one private lesson tailored to your level.
