This half-day white water rafting adventure takes place in Barron Gorge National Park, where rainforest, mountains, steep gorges, and ancient waterfalls come together. Choose an option with pickup from Cairns or Port Douglas, or join directly at Lake Placid.
Meet your guides at Lake Placid and get ready
Meet your expert river guides at Lake Placid for practice and a safety briefing, and receive all safety equipment. Then ride the tour bus to the rafting launch point. No prior experience is required.
Raft Grade 2–3 rapids
for up to 2 hours
Head down the Barron River, where calm stretches alternate with exciting rapids, while admiring the rainforest scenery. The Grade 2 and 3 rapids are perfect for beginners and still exciting for experienced rafters.
※ The river levy of $35 per person is not included and must be paid on the day.
※ People with certain illnesses, disabilities, or injuries may be excluded from rafting for safety reasons.

Arrive by 2:45 PM to meet your guide at 3:00 PM. Park at the Lake Placid car park and do not enter the Lake Placid Van Park, which is private property. A tour bus takes you from Lake Placid to the launch point, and the tour ends back at the car park where you parked. Leave personal belongings in your car; the operator can look after your car keys.

Pickup is available from selected areas in Cairns and the Northern Beaches. Please wait at your pickup location 10 minutes before pickup time. Estimated pickup times are 2:00 PM for South Cairns, 2:20–2:40 PM for Cairns City, 2:30 PM for Palm Cove, and 2:45 PM for Trinity Beach. Please check your voucher after booking confirmation for the exact pickup location and time.
