Introducing the festival

1. Notojima Mukaida Fire Festival:
This festival is held every year on the last Saturday of July at Iyahiba Shrine in Mukaida-cho, Notojima. Set up a large torch about 7 meters high and weigh 30 tons and light it by throwing a flashlight at it. It is said that if a torch falls on a mountain, you can expect a good harvest that year.

2. Okumako Festival:
The Okumako Festival, held every year on September 9, is the largest festival held at Kumakafu Metropolitan Ara Kashihiko Shrine. In Kamohara, a wonderful technique called "Shimada Kuzushi", which involves spinning a tilted flag quickly on the ground, is demonstrated and is designated as a nationally important intangible folk cultural asset.

3. Ishizaki Lantern Festival:
The Ishizaki Lantern Festival is held at Hachiman Shrine every year on the first Saturday of August. Approximately one person can participate in the event, and you can see the largest lantern in Noto at 100 meters high and 13 tons in weight.

4. Seikashi Festival:
The Seikashi Festival, held every year from May 3 to 5, is held on a float called “Tekayama.” The float is said to be the largest in Japan, with a height of approximately 12 meters, a weight of 20 tons, and a wheel diameter of 2 meters.

Participate in a variety of festivals that are enormous and registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage! You can take the time to understand Japanese culture and create fun memories.
