This 2-day tour from Hohhot takes you to a local Mongolian family in Inner Mongolia's Xilamuren Grassland. Spend the night in a traditional Mongolian ger (yurt), taste Mongolian tea and local food, and learn how to cook Mongolian dishes. Try Mongolian archery, build a bonfire with dried cow dung you collect yourself, and watch the sunset, sunrise and starry night sky over the grassland. As a private group tour, it lets you experience the local family's way of life up close.

After pickup from your hotel in Hohhot, travel about 2–2.5 hours by minibus or car to a traditional Mongolian home in Xilamuren Grassland. On arrival you'll be served traditional Mongolian tea, and after lunch you'll explore the surrounding area. A live guide leads the tour in English.

In the afternoon, try Mongolian archery. You can also go horse riding on the grassland if you wish; horse riding is not included in the tour price and is paid separately on site.

In the evening, collect dried cow dung for the bonfire and learn Mongolian recipes. Watch the sunset over dinner, then light a bonfire and gaze at the stars at night. You'll sleep in a traditional Mongolian ger.

On the second day, wake up early to see the sun rise over the grassland. After breakfast, head back to Hohhot, arriving around noon.
