This 2.5-hour cruise takes you by boat from Parc de la Villette along the Canal Saint-Martin and the Seine to the Musée d'Orsay. As you pass through the canal's locks one after another, you can see the Canal Saint-Martin's footbridges and chestnut-lined banks up close. After passing through a 1.6 km underground tunnel with openings that let in light, you emerge at the Port de l'Arsenal in front of Place de la Bastille. You then enter the Seine and pass the Île Saint-Louis and the Île de la Cité, with commentary in English and French.

Depart from Parc de la Villette
and follow the Canal Saint-Martin
Board the boat in the middle of Parc de la Villette in Paris's 19th arrondissement and glide slowly along the canal toward the lift bridge on Rue de Crimée. Pass the Bassin de la Villette and reach the Rotonde designed by architect Ledoux.
Enjoy canal views as you pass through the locks
The canal journey begins in earnest at the first lock by the Récollets center, where you can see the Hôtel du Nord. Follow the Canal Saint-Martin, lined with footbridges, walkways and chestnut trees, and watch everyday life along the canal, a popular spot for anglers.
Pass through an underground tunnel lit from above
Next, enter an underground tunnel more than 1.6 km long. After passing through the arched tunnel where light shines in through openings in the ceiling, you emerge at the Port de l'Arsenal with the July Column on Place de la Bastille right in front of you.
Enter the Seine and continue to the Musée d'Orsay
From the Port de l'Arsenal, enter the Seine for a short cruise past the Île Saint-Louis and the Île de la Cité. The cruise ends near the Musée d'Orsay.
