Beijing Forbidden City Ticket & Optional 1-Hour Small-Group Guided Tour

Choose from two ways
to explore the Forbidden City

Also known as the Palace Museum, the Forbidden City is the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, covering more than 720,000 m² with over 9,000 rooms. Its strict symmetrical layout along the central axis, tall red walls, golden glazed-tile roofs and intricate stone carvings showcase traditional Chinese architecture and royal culture.

You can choose between a 1-hour small-group guided tour with an expert guide (Package 1) and a self-guided ticket-only option (Package 2). Both options include admission to the Forbidden City.

Package 1: Walk the central axis with a guide

Meet your guide at the Meridian Gate and spend 1 hour visiting iconic halls along the central axis, including the Hall of Supreme Harmony and the Palace of Heavenly Purity. Your guide shares legends of the palace, architectural techniques, royal ceremonies and little-known stories of the Ming and Qing emperors. The guided tour is conducted in English.

Package 2: Explore at your own pace with a ticket

With an official Palace Museum ticket booked in advance, you can skip the hassle of buying tickets and complicated reservation rules and enter directly with a valid passport. Plan your own route without group restrictions and explore the halls and cultural relics freely.

※ Tickets are issued under the passport number registered at booking and are valid only on the day of your visit.
