Board a boat in Panglao
and head to Balicasag Island and Virgin Island
After pickup from your hotel in the municipality of Panglao, you travel about 30 minutes by vehicle and board the boat. Depending on the wind and currents, the boarding point is Alona, Sawang, Doljo or Momo Beach, and the final schedule is arranged by contacting you the day before the tour. The boat is equipped with amenities and refreshments.
Look for dolphins near Balicasag Island
The boat heads to the dolphin-watching area of Balicasag Island for about 1 hour. When dolphins are spotted, the boats signal each other, and with luck you can see dolphins leaping out of the water beside the boat. The crew moves to find the dolphins' feeding grounds, which change every day.
Snorkel the turtle sanctuary with a local guide
On Balicasag Island, a local islander guide is assigned to every visitor in line with government policy. You explore the coral reef by paddle boat and with snorkeling gear, meeting colorful fish and marine life, and you can watch turtles swimming in the turtle sanctuary. The island is very popular, so you may have to wait for a guide to be assigned.
You can tell your guide your swimming level (non-swimmer, beginner, experienced, freediver, etc.) and ask to be taken to a less crowded area.
Relax on the Virgin Island sandbar and enjoy a BBQ lunch
The Virgin Island sandbar is a crescent-shaped white sandbar that reopened after restoration work (October 2024 to January 2026). The surrounding sea is shallow, with plenty of seagrass, sea urchins, starfish and camouflaged fish. You have about 30 minutes to explore freely and relax.
While you swim, the boat crew prepares lunch. Lunch is served around 11:00 a.m. with grilled pork, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp and rice. During lunchtime you have free time to swim around the boat.
※ Wild animals live in their natural habitat, so sightings are not guaranteed. Dolphin watching varies by season.
※ The sandbar is hard to reach at low tide, so depending on the tide it may be visited before Balicasag Island.
※ The itinerary may change depending on local conditions.
