This is an admission ticket for Hitsujigaoka Observation Hill in Toyohira-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido.

Hours are 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Oct-May) and 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Jun-Sep). Show your mobile ticket at the on-site counter for entry.

Sapporo views beyond the pasture

Enjoy the peaceful sight of sheep grazing on wide pastures. On clear days you can see Sapporo Dome and the Ishikari Plain.

The hill was once a research sheep farm of the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce that raised more than 2,000 sheep. It became a tourist facility after visitor numbers grew too large.

The statue of Dr. W.S. Clark, who laid the foundations of Hokkaido University, is the symbol of the observation hill.

Copy his raised right hand pointing into the distance for a memorable photo.

Something different every season

Enjoy lavender fields in summer, sheep shearing held with the Golden Week spring festival, and snow activities such as sledding in winter.

Near the hill are the Sapporo Snow Festival Museum and a church often used for weddings.
