with a licensed guide

Meet your guide holding a 'GetYourGuide' sign under the Statue of Charlemagne on Île de la Cité to start the tour. First, outside the cathedral, hear about its architectural history dating back to the Middle Ages, the major fire of 2019 and the restoration that brought it back to its former glory.

Look at the facade, flying buttresses and Gothic details

Admire the iconic facade, the flying buttresses and striking Gothic ornamentation as you learn the stories, craftsmanship and symbolism behind this world-famous building. Your guide explains in detail how this UNESCO World Heritage cathedral was built and restored.

Explore the interior with priority entry

With the exterior guided tour and entry assistance option, you explore the interior freely on your own after the exterior guided tour. This option does not include an interior guided tour.

※ On certain days of the year, out of respect for religious services, the architecture and history are explained outside with visual aids before entering the cathedral.
