In this class, you'll learn the basics of wine tasting with a professional sommelier at the wine shop Canons Canons in Paris's 10th arrondissement. You'll taste wines from independent winemakers in a cozy, air-conditioned urban wine cellar, and the lesson is given in French or English.

Pour your first glass straight from the barrel

You'll pour your first wine yourself from one of nine barrels and learn the basics of wine tasting. Then you'll move to the 100-year-old table at the heart of the cellar, where an aperitif platter is served with your second wine. The platter includes charcuterie, artisanal cheese and sourdough country bread, and a vegetarian option is available.

Try blind tasting with black glasses

Blind tasting is done with black glasses so you can focus on your other senses. Guessing the color of the wine helps you concentrate more on its taste and aroma. In the 5-wine format, you'll finish with a sparkling wine.

Buy the wines you liked right at the shop

The wines and products you tasted can be purchased at the shop, kept at the right temperature. Take them home or enjoy them on a walk along the Canal Saint-Martin after the class.
