The museum's signature exhibit is its collection of carpets and rugs. From Seljuk-era designs to ornate Ottoman masterpieces, these textiles with vivid colors and intricate patterns showcase the skill of Islamic weavers.
Explore calligraphy, ceramics, crafts and religious relics
You can also explore galleries of calligraphy, ceramics, glasswork and metalwork, as well as ancient manuscripts and wooden artifacts. Religious relics said to be strands of the Prophet Muhammad's beard and his footprint are also on display.

The museum is on Sultanahmet Square, right near the Blue Mosque. Take the Kabataş–Bağcılar tram and get off at Sultanahmet station; it is a 5-minute walk from there. From the Asian side, take a ferry from Kadıköy or Üsküdar to Eminönü and transfer to the tram.
