When you arrive at the cruise port, take the free port shuttle to Largo della Pace. There, the staff help you check in and you board the coach to Rome. You can sit back and travel to the city center without changing trains or taxis, and the drive takes about 1 hour 30 minutes depending on traffic.

Hop on and off the open-top bus to explore Rome freely

In Rome, you are dropped off at Piazza dei Tribunali, within walking distance of Piazza Navona and Big Bus stop 6. From there, hop on and off the open-top bus at 8 stops near the main sights and explore Rome at your own pace. Visit ancient landmarks such as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia or the Vatican area, or enjoy lunch and gelato in one of the squares.

Enjoy the route from the upper deck with audio commentary

Instead of walking, you can also stay on the bus for the whole route. Take in the city views from the open-top upper deck while listening to multilingual audio commentary, and make your day easier with free on-board Wi-Fi and live bus tracking.

Return to Civitavecchia Port before your cruise departs

After about 4 to 5 hours of free time in Rome, return to the designated meeting point by 3:45 PM. The bus leaves at 4:00 PM and arrives in Civitavecchia around 5:30 PM. The whole trip takes about 7 hours 30 minutes including transfers.
