Iriomote Island: Barasu Island Snorkeling & Yubu Island Water Buffalo Cart Tour

Depart from Iriomote Island and
visit Barasu Island and Yubu Island in one day

This tour lasts about 6 hours, starting at Densa Terminal (デンサターミナル) in Uehara, Iriomote Island. In the morning you head out to sea by boat for snorkeling, and after a break you drive to Yubu Island in the afternoon. The tour ends back at the meeting point.

Snorkel at Barasu Island, made of coral fragments

A speedboat takes you about 10 minutes to Barasu Island, made of white coral fragments, where you snorkel for about 1.5 hours. Coral reefs surround the island and you can see colorful tropical fish. Even if it is your first time, the guide helps you step by step with a safety briefing.

Cross the shallow sea to Yubu Island by water buffalo cart

After a break, drive about 30 minutes to Yubu Island. You slowly cross the sandy, shallow sea channel on a traditional water buffalo cart while the guide plays the sanshin, Okinawa's three-stringed instrument. On Yubu Island, spend about 1.5 hours leisurely exploring the botanical garden filled with a butterfly garden, tropical fruit trees and colorful flowers.

Equipment rental and photo data are included

Life jackets, a snorkeling set and special shoes are provided, and you can use hot showers. Throughout the tour, the guide takes photos with a waterproof camera, and you can receive the digital photo data for free.
