Gaudi's Park Güell

Park Güell is divided into a paid area and a free area. The interior is much bigger than you might think, so it's not easy to see everything in one day, and I recommend only looking at the paid areas to see meaningful works.

Entry to the paid area is currently possible through the central plaza at the back entrance and requires quite a long walk. If you look at the map, you will enter Area A and walk to the central square. It is longer than you think, so I recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

It all starts with a lizard statue

Do you know the superstition about the lizards and statues in the central fountain at the park's main entrance? The lizard symbolizes alchemy, and the snake head with bronze horns symbolizes Aesculapius, the god of medicine. There is a superstition that touching this snake's head will bring good luck, so feel free to touch it with a proof shot!

Park Güell occupies an incredibly large area, so you can find hidden attractions everywhere. Enjoy the scenery where palm trees, nature, and architecture all come together in harmony.

What is unique about the central square is the 86 pillars that support it. The top of the pillar is decorated with four suns made of bottles and stones, which are said to represent the four seasons. It's full of surprises to see how they came up with this idea.
