Barcelona Zoo is located in Ciutadella Park and places the welfare and protection of animals as its top priority. The Barcelona Zoo is operated directly by the city after Lluis Marti donated it to the city. It covers an area of about 130,000 square meters and is home to more than 4,000 animals of 400 species. In particular, the African Garden was created for the first time in Barcelona, where you can see giraffes, hippos, rhinos, and zebras. It is also recommended because you can see a variety of animals, including an artificial waterfall created in this area divided by a deep ditch, which supports various water birds.
