Fado na Baixa is a fado venue next to the historic Ribeira district, hosting fado concerts every day that carry the traditions of Lisbon and Coimbra. It is an independent project born from a passion for fado, with renowned fado artists Gonçalo Mendes and Mário Henriques taking part as hosts and creators.

Two guitarists and two singers take the stage to share a wide range of voices and traditions, from traditional fado to songs dedicated to Amália Rodrigues, the Portuguese guitar and contemporary fado. You can enjoy heartfelt performances up close and may even get the chance to meet the musicians.

Each part of the show includes a brief explanation of fado's history and culture, with translations in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French. The show is accompanied by multimedia content, and an audio guide in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese is included.
