Using the geothermal heat of Atagawa to operate the greenhouse, 'Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden' is a fascinating place where you can meet animals from warm regions up close and enjoy a variety of tropical fruits.

The garden is divided into three sections: the Alligator Garden, the Botanical Garden, and the Orchard, offering a full day of enjoyment! Let's take a closer look at what attractions await!

Meet 16 Species, Approximately 140 Alligators

The garden breeds approximately 140 precious alligators of 16 endangered species, boasting the highest level in the world.

In particular, you can see the alligators from the side in the aquarium, making them appear as if they are standing on two feet. It's a place where you can appreciate the unexpected charm of these seemingly fierce but actually cute alligators.

Also, there are moments when you can see the alligators eating, so it's even better if you visit with the time in mind!

Japan's Only 'Red Panda, Amazon Manatee'

Did you know that there are two types of red pandas? They are divided into the Western Red Panda, which lives in the Himalayas, and the Chinese Red Panda, and this zoo is the only one in Japan that breeds 10 Western Red Pandas.

Meal times are from 9 AM to 10 AM and 3 PM to 4 PM, and the sight of them holding and chewing apples in their hands is cute, but the sight of them wandering around hungry before meals and flying towards the staff who bring the food is also very lovely.

Another highlight! The 'Amazon Manatee', also known as the Amazon mermaid, is a herbivore with a body length of 240cm and a weight of 300kg, and you can see them eating at 10:30 AM and 2 PM every day. Come and meet the lovely manatee, which is said to float to the surface of the glass several times when it is in a good mood!
