'Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden' is a space where various fruits and plants are grown and animals live in a greenhouse using the heat of Atagawa Hot Springs. Meet unique and cute crocodiles and red pandas, and even eat bananas grown in the hot spring heat!
Conveniently located just a 1-minute walk from Izu-Atagawa Station , the garden is divided into three parts: a crocodile garden, a botanical garden, and an orchard. Spend a warm day in the garden, where you can enjoy yourself all day long.

This place, 'Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden', is a place where you can see warm-climate animals up close and enjoy a variety of tropical fruits grown there, which piques your curiosity as the greenhouse is operated using the heat from Atagawa's hot springs.

Meet 16 species and approximately 140 crocodiles
The garden is said to be home to approximately 140 precious crocodiles from 16 species that are among the most endangered in the world.
In particular, through the aquarium where you can see the crocodile from the side, you can see it as if it is standing on two legs. It is a place where you can appreciate the unexpected charm of crocodiles that appear to be ferocious but are actually cute.
There are also times when you can see crocodiles feeding, so it would be even better if you visit according to the timing!

Japan's only breed of 'red panda, Amazon manatee'
Did you know that there are two types of red pandas? The western red pandas that live in the Himalayas and the Chinese red pandas. This is the only zoo in Japan that keeps 10 western red pandas.
Meal times are 9-10 a.m. and 3-4 p.m. It is cute to see them holding an apple in their hand and chewing it, but it is also very adorable to see them wander around hungry before meals and fly towards the staff who brought them food.
Another highlight! The Amazon Manatee, also known as the Amazon Mermaid, is a herbivore measuring 240cm in length and weighing 300kg. You can see it eating every day at 10:30am and 2pm. Come meet the adorable manatee, who is said to float up to the glass surface several times when he is in a good mood!
