As a botanical garden, this is the Kobe Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden, which boasts the longest history in Japan.
You can see about 1,600 kinds of flowers and trees, including alpine plants and cold-climate plants from around the world, as well as plants native to Mt. Rokko. Don't miss this precious place, located near the city, where you can see the alpine plants of the Alps in all four seasons!

Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden
Kobe Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden was established in 1933, and is the oldest alpine botanical garden in Japan. It cultivates about 1,600 kinds of alpine plants from around the world, plants from cold regions, and plants native to Mt. Rokko. It is located at 865m above sea level, and its climate is almost the same as that of southern Hokkaido. Mt. Rokko is a precious place where you can encounter alpine plants of the Alps in all seasons, located near the city.
There is also a mountain lodge cafe and a log cabin-style plant-related goods store within the botanical garden, so you can enjoy the nature of Mt. Rokko and even buy souvenirs!
