Two religious sites in Jakarta
St. Mary's Cathedral and Istiklal Mosque. Visit two religious sites that were built facing each other to promote religious harmony.
st mary's cathedral
St. Mary's Cathedral in Jakarta is a large Catholic cathedral located across from the Istiqlal Islamic Mosque. When you step inside, you will get the feeling that this is the quietest place in Jakarta. (*Please be respectful and quiet when touring religious areas!)
Istiqlal Islamic Mosque
“Istiqlal” means “independence” in Arabic. Construction began during the term of Sukarno, Indonesia’s first president, and was completed 17 years later during the term of Suharto, the second president. It is the largest temple in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. Guided tours of Istiklal are conducted in English every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., making it a great place to tour together. (*Women's cloaks are available for rental when entering the temple barefoot, wearing long pants, and participating in the tour program.)
The most iconic monument
Monas Tower, one of Indonesia's most iconic monuments! Construction began to commemorate Indonesia's Independence Day, August 17, 1945, and was completed in 1975. MONAS stands for MOnumen NASional and means national monument. The square surrounding Monas is called Independence Square (Merdeka Square).
We will visit the plaza on the first floor of Monas Tower and then shop for souvenirs at a large souvenir stall near the parking lot. Please note that entry to Independence Square is free, but entry inside the Monas Monument requires a fee! (Top: Rp 10,000 for adults / Bottom: Rp 5,000)
*Internal viewing may not be possible or restricted depending on local circumstances (national events and COVID-19 situation).
Indonesian version of Korean food, Padang
We will visit Padang Restaurant, an Indonesian version of Korean traditional food, where famous chefs such as Baek Jong-won, Lee Won-il, and David Kwon have visited and savored the delicious food.
As the savory foods unique to the Padang region are placed on the table one after another, at some point the table will be full. Choose from a variety of foods according to your taste and enjoy! You can also try Rendang, a beef spice dish that was selected as the most delicious food by CNN.
A refreshing finish with a massage
Finally, enjoy a massage at a certified spa facility to soothe your tired body and refresh your sweaty body. Basically, a 1-hour foot massage is provided, and a Javanese or Balinese full body massage is available for an additional fee.
