Meet Maruko in his hometown, Shizuoka.
‘Maruko is nine years old’ exhibition
‘Maruko is Nine Years Old’, one of the top three Japanese cartoons set in Shizuoka in the 1970s, can be seen as an exhibition at S-Pulse Dream Plaza! You can see a high-quality space that reproduces various scenes from the cartoon, and even purchase Maruko's original goods.
Anyone who has seen the 'Maruko is Nine Years Old' cartoon will reminisce, and even if not, you can see the era of Japan in the 1970s through a cute cartoon, so this is an exhibition I recommend to anyone who visits Shizuoka.
'Maruko is nine years old' cartoon turned into reality
Chibi Maruko-chan Land
Maruko-chan, a 9-year-old little lady with quirky charm! For anyone who watched the 'Maruko is Nine Years Old' cartoon on TV as a child, I would like to introduce an exhibition that will make you feel nostalgic.
‘Maruko is Nine Years Old’, written by the original author, Momoko Sakura, based on her memories of living in Shizuoka, is a mascot of Shizuoka, so a meaningful exhibition is being prepared. You can enjoy the feeling of becoming a character through various concept rooms, and also view manuscripts and animation materials signed by the original author.
Because it is located inside S-Pulse Dream Plaza, there are many things to see and eat, making it a great exhibition to stop by! Are you ready to dive into a nostalgic cartoon together?
To Maruko-chan’s world!
The exhibition hall is comprised of the 'Maruko's Daily Life' zone, where Maruko's school and home are relocated, the 'Dream Pool' zone of the animation opening world view, and the 'Maruko's Dream Amusement Park' zone. If you walk around each room while listening to the dialogue, you can enjoy the story as if you were watching a 4-panel cartoon.
If you look at the characters playing around here and there, you can see that they are arranged according to their personalities. Have fun discovering each and every detail while recalling the cartoon!
Enjoy the experience program to the fullest.
Inside the land, you can enjoy sand painting using colorful sand, and at Maruko's Classroom, you can rent character costumes and take a proof photo! In addition, we are holding various events, so please refer to the official website !
* Experience programs require a separate additional fee.
Maruko-chan goods that threaten your balance!
It's hard to pass up cute Maruko-chan goods that evoke nostalgia and not buy them. You can find not only products with the popular gentleman concept, but also products with original illustrations from the author.
In addition, there are original and seasonal goods that can only be purchased at this exhibition, so it would be even more meaningful to purchase them in Shizuoka, Maruko's village, right?
