The JR Kansai-Sanin Area Pass is the ultimate transportation pass for western Japan, allowing unlimited use of the Sanyo Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka to Okayama) on the JR line, limited express trains, regular trains (including rapid and special rapid), Chizu Express, Kyoto Tango Railway, and JR West Japan buses within the area.

Introduction to Available Routes

With the JR Kansai-Sanin Pass, you can freely travel within the area marked on the map above.

Available Trains :

- Sanyo Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka⇔Okayama) reserved seats
  You can use the 'Hello Kitty Shinkansen'.
- Reserved seats on limited express trains (HARUKA, YAKUMO, KONOTORI, SUPER HAKUTO, etc.)
* If you are using a reserved seat, be sure to make a reservation in advance.
* Some trains have reserved seats for all cars and no non-reserved seats. For trains with reserved seats for all cars, please check the official website and be sure to reserve a reserved seat before boarding.
- Chizu Express
- Kyoto Tango Railway
- Special Rapid, Rapid, and Local trains on the JR West Japan conventional line
- West Japan JR buses are valid only for route buses within the area. You cannot ride express buses.

Unavailable Trains :

- Tokaido Shinkansen (Shin-Osaka⇔Tokyo)
- Sanyo Shinkansen (Okayama⇔Hakata)
- Kyushu Shinkansen (Hakata⇔Kagoshima-Chuo)
- Paid seating services (A seats, etc.) for rapid and special rapid trains in the Kansai area
 

How to Exchange

JR West Japan Pass exchange can be easily done at the ticket vending machine with a passport mark. Korean is also supported, so you don't have to worry even if you don't know Japanese. 

Automatic ticket machine usage order :
1. Select the language to use
2. Select Receive reserved ticket 
3. Select Exchange order (E-TICKET)
4. Scan mobile voucher (QR code)
5. Enter the start date of use * Cannot be changed after issuance.
6. Check the terms of use and instructions
7. Scan passport * If the IC chip is not recognized properly, please go to the Midori-no-Madoguchi (window).
8. Receive ticket

1. Kyoto :
