We introduce a history tour that lets you explore the world view of London during the urgency of World War II. This tour lets you experience London’s war history up close, from the BBC broadcasting room where all speeches were broadcast live during the war, to the telephone room that connected Churchill and the US president, to the underground bunker.

Places to meet

Walk past London’s World War II landmarks, including Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the Churchill War Memorial, the Old War Office Building and Downing Street, and learn about the wartime tensions as your guide explains. You’ll also have time to watch the magnificent Horse Guards Parade in St. James’ Park. As you tour these landmarks, you’ll also see buildings partially destroyed by the German air raids known as the Blitz.

Strategic hub of London

Visit Churchill's War Rooms, the most important space in Britain during World War II. It was the central location for British and Allied forces, and you can hear from your guide about the decisions made by Prime Minister Churchill in the tense atmosphere of London during the war, as well as the contents of his secret transatlantic phone calls with the US President. The tour ends in the War Rooms.
