The motif of Arendelle in Frozen
Akerhus Fortress
Akershus Fortress is a medieval fortress located on a hill overlooking Oslo Harbor. It was built in 1299 by Haakon V to defend the city, and was historically an important military stronghold. It was the inspiration for Arendelle Castle in Frozen. This alone is reason enough to visit. Take a walk inside the fortress and relive scenes from Frozen. A guided tour will make the history and scenes even more vivid. Christiana Torv is one of the oldest squares in Oslo. It was built in the 17th century during the reign of Christian IV, and the square is surrounded by old buildings, restaurants, and cafes, making it a great place to rest and enjoy.
