The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a facility dedicated to the protection, breeding, and research of rare wild animals like giant pandas and red pandas. Wander through spacious areas filled with bamboo and observe pandas as they eat, climb trees, or rest.

The pandas' activity levels may vary depending on the weather, temperature, and individual condition. For a chance to see them at their most active, it's recommended to visit in the cooler morning hours.

Go beyond just observing pandas; learn about the bamboo they primarily eat, their unique dietary habits, and behaviors. Throughout the base, exhibits and educational spaces offer insights into the various research activities aimed at protecting giant pandas and maintaining their population.

Enjoy exploring different panda enclosures along shaded bamboo paths, from adult pandas to playful cubs. Please note that the visibility of specific pandas and baby pandas may vary daily.

Spanning approximately 3,570 mu, the Chengdu Panda Base is extensive, so allow ample time for your visit. You can freely navigate between various panda viewing areas and exhibition spaces in any order you prefer.

The current official operating hours are March-October 07:30-18:00, November-February 08:00-17:30. Entry is divided into morning and afternoon sessions, and tickets can be booked up to 14 days in advance.
