Enjoy 700+ hands-on exhibits
at the Exploratorium on Pier 15
Founded in 1969 by physicist Dr. Frank Oppenheimer, the Exploratorium is a science museum designed to let visitors touch, manipulate and experiment with the world around them. Your ticket includes general admission on your selected date and a written guide available in 12 languages.
Six galleries and outdoor spaces feature more than 700 exhibits created on-site by artists, scientists and educators. Exhibits change regularly, so there is always something new to discover, such as the "Glow" exhibition exploring the art and science of light.
Awaken your senses and curiosity in each themed gallery

Experiment with thoughts, emotions and social behavior in the Human Phenomena gallery, and test your senses with light, sound, color and heat in the Seeing & Listening gallery. The Living Systems gallery is a working lab where you can explore life at every scale.
In the Tinkering gallery, try out the latest prototypes built for museums around the world and get creative with hands-on making activities. From freezing time with strobe lights to watching fog swirl inside a tornado, the exhibits invite you to feel science with your own hands.
Gaze out over the bay from the outdoor exhibits and Bay Observatory

Enjoy large-scale outdoor exhibits on wind, water and motion, and take in panoramic views of San Francisco Bay at the Bay Observatory, along with exhibits on local history, geography and ecology. The building is a net-zero energy museum powered by renewable energy and cooled with bay water.
Book the Tactile Dome and After Dark separately

The Tactile Dome, where you navigate in total darkness using only your sense of touch, is not included in this ticket. It can be purchased on-site or by calling the museum. On Thursday nights, the museum hosts "After Dark," an adults-only (18+) event with cocktails, music and immersive programs, which requires a separate ticket.
※ Exhibits change regularly, so the exhibits on display may vary depending on when you visit.
