Architecture Center by Michigan Avenue
The Chicago Architecture Center sits at the southern end of the Magnificent Mile near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive. Formerly the Chicago Architecture Foundation, it occupies a space designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture inside a building designed by the Office of Mies van der Rohe. Explore about 929 square meters of gallery space across two floors at your own pace.
Through 40-foot glass walls, take in views of Chicago's iconic buildings, including Tribune Tower, the Wrigley Building, and the Apple flagship store.
Admire the Chicago Model with more than 4,000 buildings

The Chicago Model in the Chicago Gallery has expanded from 1,300 to more than 4,000 buildings. A film and light show illuminates the model, telling the story of Chicago's early growth, its rebirth after the Great Chicago Fire, its first skyscrapers, and its modernist masterpieces of steel and glass.
Use interactive touch screens to search buildings by architect or style and find walking tour routes. You can also see how cutting-edge 3D printing creates buildings at the exact scale of the model.
Learn the history of skyscrapers through models from around the world

In "Building Tall," the exhibition in the Drake Family Skyscraper Gallery, learn how architects have pushed limits to design ever-taller buildings. Explore large-scale models of famous skyscrapers, from Chicago's Home Insurance Building, often called the first skyscraper, to Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), the world's tallest building for nearly 25 years, and Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Tower, designed in Chicago.
