Pick up your gear at the dive center
and head to the reef
Check in at Scuba-Fun Dive Center in Key Largo, collect your mask, snorkel and fins, and board the boat for a short ride to the reef. Before entering the water, the crew gives a brief safety briefing about the activity.
Snorkel above the Christ of the Abyss
The first stop is Key Largo Dry Rocks in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Explore the 2.7 m bronze Christ of the Abyss statue, which has rested on the seabed since 1965, and the surrounding reef from the surface. No scuba gear is needed to see it.
Explore a second reef chosen by the captain
The captain chooses the second site based on the day's wind, tide, current and visibility. Continue snorkeling over a reef where you may see tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, sharks and colorful coral formations. The crew stays nearby in the water if you need help.
