Depart Perth and travel
through the Wheatbelt to Dryandra
Board a minibus at your pickup point in Perth and head southeast. Passing through native forest into the Wheatbelt region, you will see golden wheat fields and bright yellow canola fields. Look out for emus and kangaroos in the open farmland on the way to Dryandra Woodlands, part of an international biodiversity hotspot.
Bushwalk and enjoy a barbecue picnic dinner

On arrival at the woodlands, enjoy a short bushwalk looking for native animals and seasonal wildflowers. Then sit down to a picnic dinner in the quiet forest. Your guide cooks on the barbecue, served with salads, cheese and biscuits, wine and drinks.
After dinner, take a scenic drive through the forest as sunlight filters through the branches. Kangaroos are common in this area, so keep an eye out for them moving between the trees.
Meet nocturnal animals at Barna Mia sanctuary

The final destination is Barna Mia, a wildlife sanctuary for some of Australia's endangered mammals. Your guide gives a short talk and video about the conservation work carried out here. You then enter the sanctuary on a guided night walk and sit quietly as the nocturnal animals come out to forage.
Stargaze under dark skies

To finish the tour, stop briefly near a farm to look at the stars. The Dryandra area has very dark skies with little light pollution. Depending on the season, you may see the Milky Way, and there is time to photograph the night sky with your camera or phone. Afterwards, return to Perth and get dropped off at a pickup point.
