Highlights
This is a small group tour from Colmar that allows you to explore towns in three countries—France, Germany, and Switzerland—in a single day. In Freiburg, Germany, admire the cathedral and the small water channels (Bächle) flowing alongside the streets, and in Basel, Switzerland, stroll through the medieval Old Town along the Rhine. Finally, finish by exploring Eguisheim, a beautiful village in Alsace, to experience the cultural similarities and differences of these three neighboring countries up close. Travel together in an air-conditioned minivan with a maximum of 7 people, including hotel pickup in Colmar.
Program
Depart from Colmar
and travel across borders to three countries
Your guide and driver will pick you up from your accommodation or a designated location in Colmar. Travel by air-conditioned minivan towards Germany, passing by Neuf-Brisach, a late 17th-century UNESCO World Heritage fortified town. Guiding is provided in English and French.
Explore the cathedral and waterways of Freiburg, Germany
In Freiburg, located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, enjoy a leisurely stroll through fairytale-like streets and see the unique cathedral and the small water channels flowing right next to the sidewalks.
Walk along the Rhine and through the Old Town in Basel, Switzerland
Cross the border again to Basel, Switzerland. Divided into two parts by the Rhine River, the city offers plenty of sights, including picturesque bridges, narrow winding alleys, and a grand cathedral. Walking through the medieval Old Town, you can experience Basel's unique culture that sets it apart from other Swiss cities.
End your day in Eguisheim, a beautiful Alsace village
Eguisheim, located just south of Colmar, is a village laid out in concentric circles around its central square. It features brightly colored historic half-timbered houses, small shops, and remains of medieval ramparts. After completing the itinerary, return to Colmar in the late afternoon.
