Program
Ride six ziplines
through the Okoheriki ancient forest
After checking in at the Rotorua Canopy Tours base, you will take a branded van for about 10 minutes to the start point in the forest. This protected forest is closed to the public and can only be accessed on this tour.
The six ziplines gradually increase in height, length and speed. You will fly between the treetops at up to 50 km/h, and the longest line is 220 m. The adventure lasts about 2.5 hours, and no experience is needed.
Cross swing bridges and stand on treetop platforms
Between ziplines, you will cross two swing bridges up to 20 m high and stand on platforms up to 22 m above the forest floor. Follow forest trails and stand beneath native trees that are more than 1,000 years old.
Meet native birds and
learn about forest restoration
Look for native birds such as the North Island robin, fantail (pīwakawaka), tomtit and kererū, which have returned thanks to predator control. When possible, you may even hand-feed them.
Two professional guides take care of your gear and safety while sharing stories about the forest, conservation and New Zealand. Free photos of your experience are included.

About 5 minutes from central Rotorua, look for the Rotorua Canopy Tours sign and vans right next to the main road. Free on-site parking is available. After checking in at the front desk, a uniformed guide will greet you and take you to the forest in a branded van (about 10 minutes). For the Ultimate option, check-in time is included in the tour time. If you need a pickup from central Rotorua, please contact the operator.
