This night light trail ticket lets you walk through the geothermal valley at Te Puia after dark and see its geysers and walkways brought to life with light and music. From a festive entrance, walk past interactive artworks and along a 1.5 km trail through 10 illuminated scenes at your own pace. Soundscapes recorded at Te Puia blend with original music by resident artists, and from the terrace you can enjoy views of the Pōhutu Geyser. The journey ends as you pass through Pikirangi Village and say farewell under the light of Maramā (the moon).

The Maramā Geyser Light Trail is a host-led nighttime outdoor walking experience at Te Puia. Geysers, walkways, and valley landscapes are illuminated with a variety of lights, revealing the geothermal valley in a whole new way. Walk the 1.5 km trail at your own pace; the experience takes about 60–90 minutes.

Starting from a festive entrance, walk past interactive artworks and through a valley leading to 10 unique scenes. Soundscapes recorded at Te Puia blend with original music by resident artists, combining storytelling, art, and sound.
Take a break on the terrace and view the Pōhutu Geyser

Along the way, rest on the terrace and take in views of the Pōhutu Geyser. Sweet treats and drinks are available for purchase on site.
Say farewell to Maramā at Pikirangi Village

Pass through the traditional scenery of Pikirangi Village and finish the trail under the light of Maramā (the moon). The gates are open for 4 hours each evening, and last entry is 1 hour before closing.
