Ride the Banff Gondola
to the summit of Sulphur Mountain
Line up for boarding at the time shown on your ticket at the gondola base at the end of Mountain Avenue, at the foot of Sulphur Mountain. Ride the gondola comfortably to the 2,281 m summit and back down. Friendly, knowledgeable hosts are on site at the summit.
Take in the Rockies from the deck and boardwalk
From the 360-degree rooftop observation deck, enjoy views of the lakes and peaks of Banff National Park and six mountain ranges. Walk the boardwalk to Sanson's Peak and enjoy the scenery from different angles along the hiking trail.
Visit the Interpretive Centre and enjoy seasonal events
Learn about the local area at the Above Banff Interpretive Centre and enjoy a light meal or dinner at one of three restaurants at the summit (food and drinks available for purchase).
Seasonal events are included with your ticket. During the Sunset Festival (June–September 2027), enjoy live music at the summit every day from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM; activities move indoors in bad weather. Autumn Above (October 2 – November 15, 2026) features hands-on crafts, seasonal drinks and live music, and Mountaintop Christmas (November 21 – December 31, 2026) offers Christmas activities and classic films.
※ The last gondola up is 30 minutes before closing, and the last gondola down is 10 minutes before closing.

Located at the end of Mountain Avenue at the base of Sulphur Mountain in Banff. Drive south to the end of Banff Avenue, cross the bridge, turn left onto Spray Avenue, then turn right onto Mountain Avenue and follow it to the end to reach the gondola parking lot. From May 12 to October 12, 2026, using the free Banff Gondola shuttle included with your ticket or Roam Transit (Route 1) is recommended. Show your same-day ticket to the driver when boarding the shuttle or bus.
