Patrick was charming, knowledgeable and extremely professional. A super enjoyable and entertaining 2 hours, Patrick went above and beyond to find as much wildlife for us as he could. We saw lots of Elk and Deers, but no Bears - not for the lack of Patricks efforts! A very good tour from a very good tour provider. Would strongly recommend.

Our tour guide was Gabe, he was really good fun and we felt very safe with his driving. You need to manage your expectations when going to see wildlife but Gabe knew the most likely places to see both elk and black bears. We got lots of great photos and really enjoyed our trip. Thanks Gabe!

This is a relatively short evening wildlife tour, but it was definitely worth it. Our tour guide, Ed from London, was extremely friendly and humorous. He was very knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of interesting information about the local wildlife and surroundings. He also shared some of his own background and experiences, which made the tour feel more personal and helped us connect with him. We managed to see both elk and deer, and Ed really tried his best to take us to several different spots so we could see as much wildlife as possible. Although it’s a short tour, it’s still a great way to experience a wildlife safari in the area. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would recommend it!

Head out with a local guide at dusk to look for wildlife in Banff National Park on this evening safari tour. The soft evening light is when many animals are most active, giving you a chance to spot elk, deer and bighorn sheep in their natural habitat. Travel along scenic mountain roads and hear stories about Banff's wildlife, animal behaviour and the park's conservation efforts. The tour departs from 13 hotels and pick-up points in Banff and runs in a small group of up to 24 people.

Program

Get picked up at your Banff hotel
and start your evening safari

Meet your guide at the Banff hotel or pick-up point you selected when booking. Depending on the season, pick-ups take place around 5, 6 or 7 p.m. If you did not select a pick-up location, meet at the public bus parking lot behind the Mount Royal Hotel.

Drive along mountain roads in search of wildlife at dusk

In the evening, when animals are most active, travel along scenic mountain roads and look for wildlife such as elk, deer and bighorn sheep in their natural habitat. Your guide does their best to take you to areas where animals are frequently seen.

Admire the Bow Valley glowing at twilight

Along the way, enjoy beautiful views of the Bow Valley and surrounding peaks bathed in twilight. There are plenty of opportunities to learn about the history and ecology of this remarkable place.

Learn how the park protects its wildlife

Your certified guide uses hands-on interpretive tools to explain Banff's wildlife, animal behaviour and the challenges of living in a protected national park. Gain an understanding of the conservation efforts that protect the landscape and the role these animals play in the Rocky Mountains.
