Banff National Park Guided Hiking Tour - Lunch Included

Hike a signature Rockies trail with a guide,
a different one each day

Board a modern minibus at your Banff hotel or a designated pickup point and head to the trailhead. On the way, your guide introduces the national park and the day's hike. Four routes run on set days of the week, and every tour takes about 7 hours including transportation. Groups are small, with up to 12 guests per guide, and hiking poles and a picnic lunch amid Rocky Mountain scenery are included.

Sundays and Thursdays: Stanley Glacier. Mondays and Saturdays: Larch Valley. Tuesdays: Consolation Lakes. Wednesdays and Fridays: Plain of Six Glaciers.

Stanley Glacier: walk through a landscape of fire and ice in Kootenay National Park

Follow gentle switchbacks through a regenerating forest and enjoy views across Vermilion Pass toward Castle Mountain. Pass between the towering walls of Stanley Peak and Storm Mountain into a valley of rock and ice, look for fossils and admire the Stanley Glacier spilling into the valley. Moderate difficulty, 3 to 4 hours of hiking, 8.4 km (5.2 mi) round trip, 395 m elevation gain.

Larch Valley: climb from Moraine Lake into the larch forest

Start at Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks and climb 10 switchbacks on a well-maintained trail to Larch Valley. Continue through larch forest toward the Minestimma Lakes and Sentinel Pass, enjoying views of the Ten Peaks and towering Mount Temple. The hike does not go to the top of Sentinel Pass. Moderate difficulty, 4 to 5 hours of hiking, 9 km (5.6 mi) round trip, 535 m elevation gain.

Consolation Lakes: an easygoing walk to the lakes

Set out from Moraine Lake on a relaxed guided hike through the Valley of the Ten Peaks to Consolation Lakes. On the way back, explore Moraine Lake and climb the Rockpile for panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Easy difficulty, 3 to 4 hours of hiking, 5.8 km (3.6 mi) round trip, 255 m elevation gain.

Plain of Six Glaciers: climb from Lake Louise into a glacial valley

Follow the shore of Lake Louise, then climb into an ancient glacial valley with great views of the turquoise lake. A little beyond the Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse, see the valley and the glaciers feeding Lake Louise. Tea and cake at the teahouse are optional and paid separately. Moderate difficulty, about 5 hours of hiking, 10.6 km (6.6 mi) round trip, 340 m elevation gain.
