Highlights
Ishikawa Zoo in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture, lets you get close to animals in a space that makes use of the natural landscape. You can see a wide variety of animals, including Asian elephants, pygmy hippos, red pandas and capybaras. It is a "zoo where you can have fun, play and learn," designed not just for viewing animals but for observing and interacting with them in nature while nurturing respect for nature conservation and animal welfare. The zoo also runs the "Animal Mealtime Guide," where zookeepers tell you about the animals.

in a zoo built around the natural landscape
This is an admission ticket to Ishikawa Zoo. Simply show your mobile voucher (QR) on your booked date to enter. The zoo is laid out to make the most of the natural terrain, so you can observe animals such as Asian elephants, pygmy hippos, red pandas and capybaras up close.
Listen to the zookeepers at the "Animal Mealtime Guide"
At the "Animal Mealtime Guide," zookeepers kindly explain about the animals. The zoo was created so that visitors can go beyond simply looking, observing and interacting with animals while learning about nature conservation and animal welfare.
Explore the "Medaka Pond" biotope in the center of the zoo
In the center of the zoo is the biotope "Medaka Pond." Rare aquatic plants as well as Japanese rice fish (medaka) and Hotoke loach are preserved here, and a variety of insects and animals visit each season.

Please come directly to the zoo. There is a free parking lot on the zoo grounds, and no parking reservation is required.
By public transport (bus)
- From Kanazawa Station — From East Exit Platform 10, take the Hokuriku Railroad Bus (33 Tatsunokuchi Line) bound for "Tatsunokuchi Wakodai" or "Ishikawa Zoo" for about 60 minutes. The zoo is right by the "Ishikawa Zoo" stop.
- From Komatsu Station — From West Exit Platform 1, take the Hokuriku Railroad Bus (Sano Line) bound for "Ishikawa Zoo," about 40 minutes. Runs on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only.
- From Matto Station — Take the Hokuriku Railroad Bus (Kawakita Line) bound for "Ishikawa Zoo," about 40 minutes. Runs on weekdays only.
- From Nomi-Neagari Station — Take the Nomi Bus toward "Advanced University," get off at "Nomi Furusato Museum," and transfer to the bus bound for "Ceramic Village / Tatsunokuchi Onsen," about 38 minutes (the connecting bus runs on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only). If you get a transfer ticket on the first bus, the fare is 100 yen.
By car (Hokuriku Expressway)
- About 60 minutes (approx. 30 km) from Kanazawa-Morimoto IC
- About 40 minutes (approx. 17 km) from Kanazawa-Nishi IC
- About 30 minutes (approx. 15 km) from Hakusan IC
- About 20 minutes (approx. 13 km) from Mikawa IC
- About 20 minutes (approx. 11 km) from Nomi-Neagari Smart IC
- About 20 minutes (approx. 12 km) from Komatsu IC
