Starting near St. Mark's Square in Venice, glide by gondola for about 30 minutes along the Grand Canal and hidden canals that can only be reached by gondola. Before departure, spend about 20 minutes with a host learning the history of gondolas and gondoliers, then take a virtual journey along the Grand Canal of old Venice in VR at the gondola gallery. During the ride, listen to app commentary while admiring sights such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Salute Basilica, Punta della Dogana and Teatro La Fenice. It is a small-group experience with up to 5 people per gondola, and you can also choose options with a private ride or Ca' Rezzonico admission.

Meet your host, hear gondola stories
and experience old Venice in VR
The activity begins when you meet your host at the Venice Tours office near St. Mark's Square. For about 20 minutes, you will hear about gondolas, gondoliers and Venice's maritime heritage. The private gondola option does not include this introduction.
In the gondola gallery, see a real gondola, handmade oars, and the tools and process of gondola building up close. Step into a recreated felze (gondola cabin) and enjoy a virtual VR ride along the Grand Canal like the nobles of the past.
Admire the palaces of the Grand Canal by gondola
Ride a gondola for about 30 minutes through beautiful stretches of the Grand Canal. Admire buildings such as the Peggy Guggenheim Collection palace, Palazzo Gritti, the Salute Basilica and Punta della Dogana from the water. During the ride, you can listen to commentary on the route through the app downloaded in advance.
Pass Teatro La Fenice and Mozart's House along hidden canals
Follow small canals that can only be reached by gondola to see Teatro La Fenice and Mozart's House. Toward the end of the tour, enjoy views of San Giorgio Island and St. Mark's Basin.
Visit Ca' Rezzonico depending on your option
With the Ca' Rezzonico option, explore Ca' Rezzonico, a palace from Casanova's era, on a self-guided visit of about 1 hour in addition to the gondola experience. With the live commentary option, you hear the tour leader through a wireless device, and commentary is provided in English, French and Spanish.
